Visiting a new church can be intimidating: What should I wear? Where do I park? Where do my kids go?

We understand the many thoughts that can come from visiting a new church, so we want you to feel completely comfortable when you visit. Below are some frequently asked questions. If you have any additional questions, don’t hesitate to contact us or stop by the Welcome Center when you visit.

When are Services?

Our main worship service occurs on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. in our sanctuary.  Our services usually last about an hour.

What should I wear?

Be comfortable; come as you are. After all, we are thrilled that you’re joining us and want you to be more focused on the service than what you’re wearing.

In the summertime, it’s not uncommon to see people wearing sandals, shorts, and a shirt. Others prefer to still put on their “Sunday best” and that’s fine too! We think you’ll fit in no matter how you dress.

How do I get to Bloomington First Church?

Where should I park?

If you’re a visitor, we want you to have the best parking spots.  If you are having a hard time finding parking in our front parking lot, we have additional parking in the lot behind the church.

Where do my kids go?

On Sunday mornings we provide quality programming for your children from infant through fifth grade.  When you arrive please stop by Kids’ Check-In located in the Gymnasium.  Check-In opens at 9:45 a.m.   The Check-In team will gladly answer any questions you may have and help you register your children for their age appropriate class. After your children our checked in you will receive a receipt sticker which you will need in order to pick up your child.

You will also notice a three-digit alpha-numeric code on your receipt (example: B6C). This code is used discreetly by our Children’s Ministry to notify parents if help is needed with their child. If your child needs you the main projection screen in the sanctuary will display your three-digit alpha-numeric code until the parent comes to take care of the child.

For the safety and security of your child, it is important that you keep track of your receipt sticker. This helps us know that you are the person authorized to pick up your child.

Am I expected to put money in the offering?

If you are a guest, we don’t expect you to put money in the offering.  In fact we want our service to be a gift to you. On your first visit, make sure you don’t leave without getting the free gift and welcome folder that we give our first time guests.

If you consider Bloomington First Church your church home, we’d love for you to prayerfully consider giving regularly to support the mission of Bloomington First Church. You can give by check or cash during the service, or you can set-up an online giving account here.

Who can tell me more?
